The new “Kloka Listan” from SLL has updated its recommendation for iron supplements. It previously stated, incorrectly, that Niferex had fewer adverse events than Duroferon.
An analysis of reported adverse events and sales data showed that Niferex had 17% more reported adverse events than Duroferon.
The new text recommends Duroferon as the most cost-effective iron supplement on the market.
“Kloka Listan” is a treatment guideline produced by SLL, the largest county council in Sweden, and influences treatments and recommendations on a national level.
